A wet weekend

September is the month with a lot of festivals, but the weather doesn't always co-operate. Last saturday we had apart from the Triathlon also a theatre festival with performances to watch in the open air. Well it was awfull weather and this poor girl had to promote a cultural fund, you could make a note and attache it on her dress.

All the terraces were wet and empty and there were no performances. Only this woman was walking around with a funny monkey doll on a bike which was remote controlled by her partner. It was a very funny act, because the monkey looked very real, he could turn his head and roll his eyes.

This little girl couldn't keep her eyes of him and followed him everywhere. For her he was a real animal to play with.

Everyone was fond of him.

But in the end I saw a performance by Joris Linssen which I very liked. He is a dutch entertainer and presenter on tv and he sings Mexican and South-American music translated in dutch. It was nice and I got his look!

Listen to his music here

  1. It must be wonderful to have such a colourful and festive occasion - The little monkey does look real and should I have been the small girl, I would be so thrilled to watch. Even as an adult, the child within would pull me to watch. I did watch Joris Linssen video and it was really great - made me want to get up and dance and clap my hands. Really swinging post there Marianne, Eh :)

  2. Sad that the weather didn't cooperate. We had an outdoor craft show on Sat. that experienced a downpour of rain too.
That Joris is also easy on the eyes! :)

  3. Beste Marianne,
Jámmer van het weer... Zo goed bedoeld en het viel letterlijk in het water.
De muzikanten doen het erg goed! Leuk om nog eens een knop accordion te zien. Mijn man speelt ook accordion; geen knop...
    Liefs,

  5. I could imagine how enthralled children would be with the mechanical monkey. They want to believe so much that it would become real and alive to them. How neat is that.

  6. After such a good summer what a pity that the weather was so wet for the festival. The monkey didn't seem to mind though.

  7. Goodness me I've just been checking your last few posts Marianne, you really have been getting a lot of rain. For you autumn rain, for me spring rain! I'm not sure the runners in the triathlon would have minded too much, better cool than hot oui. I enjoyed the video and yes you did get a lovely look from Joris Linssen :)
