Amsterdam canals

With all the rain we had this autumn it is not so clever to leave your boat in the canals of Amsterdam without a canvas.

Just a pretty picture of a tourist vessel  in the canal.

  1. Yah - its true, we cover our boats most of the time when finished for the day - gotta do it - I would not envy clearing the water out of that boat in the first photo. Have a wonderful day Marianne.

  2. Owning a boat is not always a pleasure; despite the upkeep, it must be wonderful to navigate the canals.

  4. I see the no parking sign in the second photo. Is there a fee to park your boat or you can do so anywhere you please? I guess you must have to have a little ladder to get in and out from your boat too.

  7. Dearest Marianne,
One often wonders why they don't better prepare for the different seasons. A lot less work for preventing all the water in their boat than for emptying it later...
Lovely photo and that tourist boat is a great way for exploring Amsterdam's canals. We once did a canal boat tour through historic Leiden and that was amazing!
    Hugs,

  8. We have similar canals here, but it is your safe cycle ways we really need to copy.

  9. haha, only looking at it again i see there is even a second boat totally sunk in the first picture... i read that de gemeente removes these boats, but i see so many of them i wonder if they really do that very often....
