Good Fences

A rather clumsy fence in Londonderry, Ireland.

It belongs to a Verbal Arts Centre situated in a former primary school from 1894.

  2. Not only clumsy, but it appears to be both flimsy and unattractive. I admire the brickwork above the door.

  4. Dearest Marianne,
Well, verbal arts has obviously not a healthy vision for esthetics. It looks like an eye sore...!
    Happy weekend and hugs.

  5. It's hard to imagine why one would even put up that fence?

  6. Ja, je zou daar iets anders verwachten. Maar wie weet hoe lang het er al staat!

  7. Now that is the kind of fence I would want to have. It just doesn't seem to go with the building though.

  8. i like the way you describe it Marianne :) it does have 'character' though but as John says, it looks a little out of place here.

  9. It's strange that a beautiful old building has such a decrepit old fence.

  10. It seems to be quite a peculiar fence, but I like the building!

  11. Nice shot of this lovely architecture, but I agree that the fence doesn't enhance the building.

  12. Lovely olde building and fence is rather odd - it doesn't fit the scene, but then perhaps its as olde as the building.....but still kinda crappy looking.
