Dutch Mountains

In the dunes of the North Holland Dune Park along the coastline the landscape is a little bit undulating. We have a flat country without any mountains so this is what I call the dutch mountains.

At the horizon behind the buildings is the North Sea.

There were free walking horses in the dunes.

So nice to walk here in nature.

  1. I love the fact that wild horses can walk about in natural habitat and just look beautiful. We have many areas here where there are wild horses. Your dunes are most beautiful and lovely sunrise/sunset?

  2. What a beautiful tranquil morning! Is that frost on the ground? It looks really chilly, but then maybe it's because I'm so cold this morning. Here in the Tennessee Valley it's slightly below 25℉. Great to meet you this morning, visiting from #SWF, have a fototastic day!

  6. Your title caught my eye as the two words are never put together. I like your interpretation of the words.

  7. I adore your views, very pretty. I like being near mountains too, and I don't live near any, so I too like to use large hills, and cliffs around our bluffs, as my mountains as well!

  9. A very different landscape compared to what we mostly think of in the Netherlands. I recall my mother saying there were hills in some of the southern reaches of the country.

  10. It must be pleasant for you to see something other than flat land.

  11. Nice-looking hilly land.
Every country has its own specialty. We have a thousand lakes, Switzerland has the Alps is (my daughter lives there) and you have a lovely dunes, windmills and flat land.

  13. Dearest Marianne,
You forget that the southernmost province of Limburg, where I'm born, does have hills as tall as 300 m! But the dunes really look like a rolling landscape too; lovely to see horses roam around freely.
    Hugs,
    Mariette
