Dutch tradition

"Oliebollen" a traditional dutch treat on New Year's Eve. Literally ïn english called "oil spheres, a kind of  doughnut or dumpling. Mostly I baked them myself and that is a lot of work because you don't bake a few but bowls full of them because we eat them the whole day long.

This year hubby was so kind to order them at our bakery and we had coffee this morning with "oliebollen met poedersuiker" (doughnuts with icing sugar).
Read more about the history of the oliebol here.
Have a nice New Year's Eve tonight everybody and see you again in 2015!
