Sofietje

No inspiration today, the Christmas blues I suppose. But a picture of Sofietje entertaining herself with kitty movies will do I hope. Sometimes we play a bird movie for her but then she almost disappears in the screen which is a bit tricky.
We are waiting for the first snowfall here, all kind of hysterical warnings from the authorities, train services has halved, all for precaution!  But so far we only see rain falling and a wet snowflock so now and then....

    1. Yes, the south part has snow, but the middle and north not, weird isn't it? We are just a small country and such different weather!

  4. My grandparents went over to the Netherlands one winter after immigrating here. They were used to real winters out here. One big snowstorm over there, one that they would have shrugged off as just a snowfall, shut down the country.

My grandmother's father came to visit with them at their farm in the snowbelt portion of Ontario, where you really get lots of snow. During a blizzard in late March or early April, he asked, "Does the winter ever end in this country?"

The cat's such a cutie. She reminds me of cats my parents had, watching a documentary about migrating birds. They were spellbound by all those flying lunches.

    1. Yes, nowadays the Dutch authorities react so exorbitantly if the world perishes. I have expierenced a real winter in 1963 for months and in my memory life went on as usual, even trains were riding. Everything has to be under control now.

  5. Dearest Marianne,
Our 2nd cat (boy) Spooky also watched Animal Planet and we had a cat video that he LOVED to watch. Funny as most cats don't pay attention! You are lucky with Sofietje, at least in that respect. Funny as just today I uploaded a half minute video that I show on my next blog, tomorrow and our Spooky III did watch it himself. So they do notice but often get sidetracked by other things.
Yes, I did see snowy photos from the South. We have tomorrow 24°C here. After 5 days of heavy rain it cleared up on Christmas Eve and has been sunny ever since.
Hugs to you and enjoy your last Sunday of the year.

  9. I think the weather people have been especially trained to predict the worst scenario and then the press has a hayday warning people. We are supposed to be having a violent freezing rain storm, but have only raindrops. Mildest Christmas since the 1950's and 1940's ? I put on a dog movie for Jack every now and then and Jack does sit and listen, watching the dogs. Every once in a while she goes around to the back of the TV to see where the dogs are. Happy New Year.

  10. I don't have tv, but maybe I should get it for my cat! Your kitty has the most beautiful markings and it looks maybe she needs a cozy chair up close to the tv! We got 4 inches of new snow yesterday and today the sun is out and it is quite beautiful.
