A billboard for an exhibition in the GEM, Museum for Actual Art in the Hague. The painting is made by Charles Avery (1973, Oban, Schotland). The artist is an explorer of the old-fashioned kind. For ten years he has been working on his project "The Islanders" in which he maps out a fictional island, using drawings, texts, videos, objects and installations. In this exhibition he displays the results of the last five years.
These eels were not real but plastics.
Interesting exhibition but a bit surreal to watch all the fantasies.

Does make you stop and wonder.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI have or would have nightmares after walking through his "island"
BeantwoordenVerwijderenLove the painting. And looks like an interesting exhibit!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThat is probably the biggest mural you have posted yet! Not really crazy about the artwork inside however.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenOh wow Marianne, the billboard is fab, the sculptures are out of this world :)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThe mural looks like love is in the air. Tom The Backroads Traveller
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThe mural is pretty neat. The imagination went off the paper on those other two.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThose sculptures are rather... nightmares creators, for me , at least.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHeel gevarieerd.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThe mural is quite beautiful. The sculpture in the third shot is bizarre!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenVery pretty mural and some unusual pieces. At first I thought those were snakes in the last shot!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWell, some of his is pretty creepy.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDearest Marianne,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWondering how his mind is working... not a partner to team up with I guess! Just weird...
Hugs,
Mariette
Oh my goodness, the mural and all of these "out of the box" designs, what an interesting place to visit. Thank you for sharing.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenOh my goodness.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenMust have been an interesting exhibition. Your images at least are really fun.
