Ringing a bell.

A sign seen in Amersfoort which says "Dutch Carillon School".
I must admit I never knew there was a special school for playing the bells. I wonder if there are bells inside this school and how the neighbours feel about that...

    Well, they have special music for bells so I guess there could be a school to teach how to play bells properly

    Dearest Marianne,
    Quite remarkable for Amersfoort and such a Conservatory of music is of course not teaching during the early morning, evening or night! So that is no issue.
    Further, a bell ringer in a bell choir is quite different from being a professional Carilloneur. At the Bok Tower in Florida they have a professional Carilloneur who has been Guest Professor of Carillon at the Dutch Carillon School (Amersfoort, NL) in 2005.     We both LOVE it and would like to hear some of the concerts.

      A carillon is nice to hear in a clock tower indeed. I thought they learned it in the tower itsself and not in a school.
