A mural on a so called "Pepper pot" in Amsterdam. The transformer steel columns appeared at the beginning of the twentieth century in several Dutch cities. The exterior of the colums is rented for advertisement and can so genererate some additional income for the city. They are mostly used for cultural anouncements. This image is anyway not cultural but a pretty spring anouncement I think.

Something to look forward to.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenA pretty spring mural! Thanks for sharing, have a happy week!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenA very nice use of this column with beautiful colours in a still gray street !
BeantwoordenVerwijderenMost attractive and I love the colours that brighten up the roadway. Just lovely = make me feel like Spring :)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenLovely shot ..... I like how you've caught the colours and pattern against the background.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenAmsterdam is full of surprises!
Enjoy your week,
Ruby
Now that adds some spice to the scene.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWhat a fun thing to do for the city to make a few extra bucks. The ads would certainly be seen with all these bicyclists around.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenMakes me think of the art back in the 60's - hippie art.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenIt's totally adorable Marianne, how nice does it look there amongst the skeleton winter trees.. I hope there are more around.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenPepper pot is a good name for them. This one is fanciful and lovely.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenIt's beautiful!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI have seen "pepper pots" before, but never one this large. Indeed a sign of spring. Tom The Backroads Traveller
BeantwoordenVerwijderenVrolijk en lente-achtig.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenNicely colourful!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenIt took a long time to put together pepper pot and the shape in the photo. We call them pepper shakers. Now it's a busy piece to get us going for spring.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWhat a great idea, so very stylish
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDearest Marianne,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenIndeed, a pepper shaker it is! Love their shape and also their use.
Your photo at least shows flowers and that's all we look for in the spring!
Hugs,
Mariette
And I thought tulips were the iconic Spring flower. Silly me. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenIt is a bright, colorful spot in that scene.
