The glass facade of this building belongs to the department store Vroom & Dreesmann, or V&D as everybody calls it in Amsterdam. It dates from 1934 by architect Jan Kuijt under influence of the Art Deco period and New Objectivity. But it reflects very well the surroundings so I am linking to
James' "Weekend Reflections"
The glass facade looks like a cinema screen, cool !
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI agree with Karl - its kinda like watching a movie and it is very kewl.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenPerfect for reflections Marianne.. love looking at your shots, so many people on bikes, still chil!y..lots of coats and jackets :)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenAlways glad to hear about long established and successful businesses.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenBijzondere combinatie van oud en nieuw in één gebouw..
BeantwoordenVerwijderenGrappig dat nergens het V&D-logo te zien is!
Great reflections
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI like that name, V--room! :-)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenVery cool building!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI didn't get to go to that area, but it was a department store that I wanted to see. Maybe next time I visit Amsterdam.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenGreat picture and perspective.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenIt certainly does make for a good reflective surface.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenNive reflection. I use to shop at V&D in The Hague.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenYes, this has lots of reflective power. It looks like the glass facade was added later.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDearest Marianne,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenLovely photo from V & D!
Happy Sunday to you.
Hugs,
Mariette
Mooie weerspiegeling en van groot formaat.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenFijne zondag,
Nice one! It's like lots of small reflections put together to make one.
