Ganesha

A mural made by the same artist "Fabrice" (1961) as I posted last week, see "here". It was also in the same neighbourhood.

The image dates from 2013 and is related to the sign above, a firm advertising for Asiatic jewelery, furniture and utensils,  located around the corner. The Indian demigod with elefants head "Ganesha" represents something new, a new impetus, a new direction.

  4. Great job with this find. Looks like there is some graffiti above the mural, so disappointing when people mess things up. Love the transportation.

  9. Very Indian indeed. I thought for a moment that was you peering into the shop.

  11. Funny how the traffic sign almost looks like part of the mural. :-)

  12. The arms in the middle of the picture geve motion and reaching out. Yes, a mural that makes us stop and think.

  13. I wonder what it is about Ganesha that draws street artists? We have a few examples here in Oakland. Yours has a decidedly psychedelic feel to it. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.

Looking funny for a mural in Amsterdam but at least it is a very nice one!
