1001 women

A view at an exhibition I visited in the Amsterdam Museum named : "1001 women in the 20th century" Here you see the inauguration dress Queen Juliana  wore in 1948. Next to her is the Royal cradle in which all the princes and princesses have slept.

I always have been curious to have a close look at this simple hat with jewellery she was wearing.

Queen Juliana in the dress with her family.

  1. The hat is very pretty Marianne, love the last shot, such a sweet child to the right there ✨

  2. Isn't that lovely? Read up a little on your royal family. So the girl on the far right became your queen? Learned a few things I didn't know. Fun

  4. Lovely exhibition. I like the black and white photo and I can see that Queen Beatrix still resembles her picture as a young girl.

  5. That's quite a dress. I believe Margriet would be the second youngest.

  6. So many little girls! It's a very simple, elegant dress. Quite different from the ornate embroidery and symbolism on Britain's Queen Elizabeth's dress. She is lovely.

  8. It is a beautiful dress and I am glad you included the photo. Thank you for you comment on my blog today. It was special to be in touch with you during the storm too. I was so afraid and worried that day and my friends helped to keep me calm.
