Arctic Circle

The Arctic Circle in Finland is an imaginary line on the ground 8 km north of Rovaniemi and 2600 km from the North Pole.
There is a little village with shops and restaurants and Santa Claus has his home here where he answers letters from all over the world.
You can visit Santa Claus and have a picture with him but I didn't, I am more a dutch "Sinterklaas" believer.
It was rather weird to walk around between all this Christmas and Artic stuff with unusual high summer temperatures, 28 degrees C or 82.4 F!

  7. You were at the Artic Circle and it was that warm! How can that be? How can Santa work without his sleigh and surely the Elves are in a full sweat!

    Love the photos...

  8. Genie,
Yes it was strange, I had once seen it on TV with snow and sleigh indeed. This was so different, like a wrong movie.
