In the GEM in The Hague I saw a retrospective of one of the best known contemporary artists of our day Austian" Erwin Wurm (1954)". His work has evolved into a humorous universe in which he himself, his audience, articles of clothing, thoughts or actions can all become pieces of sculpture.
It was a very funny exhibition in which you could make an artpiece yourself by putting a chair on your head, or a broomstick between your legs. He even got model" Claudia Schiffer" so far to do so as you can see here and worked with the "Red Hot Chilli Peppers" for their clip.
i never heard of him! but his name is funny for a dutch... :D
BeantwoordenVerwijderenand i like especially the top one. do you also have pictures where you are the artwork then?
Now that is interesting art!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenCaT,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI didn't know him either. No I have no pictures of myself with a chair on my head, but there was a young girl who did, you had to do it in a special way with your arms through the sides, it bit complicated. He had a video to show you the possibilities. And the broomstick, you don't think for real I am standing in public as a fool?
Weird art.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI hope this guy is not planning to create is own brand of clothes... :D
