In the village of Waterville in Ireland Charlie Chaplin spent many hollidays as you could read in My post of August 12th. As a tribute to him he had his sculpture on the boulevard but also this mural with an image from the movie "The Kid" (1921). There is even an annual "Charlie Chaplin Comedy Film Festival" in August in the village.

Very original. Charlot deserves everything.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenTomás.
Nothing to do with Charlie, but I can't think of even a single independent butcher shop near me.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenReally beautiful mural, and nice, too.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenCool mural in itself, and a nice black & white scene overall rendered in color.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenOh that is so nice. Best mural of the week.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenCharlie looks kind of glum Marianne :)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDearest Marianne,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenTwo very dreary looking faces but still it is a very special mural.
Thinking about that movie 'The Kid' that played in 1921, the year my Dad was born... makes you wonder how fast time moves away from it.
Hugs,
Mariette
What an unusual tribute. I'd be curious as to who painted the mural and how it is maintained.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenthey both look very serious!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenQuite a mural. It's been awhile since I've seen a Chaplin film.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI like the mural, but it's a good way to promote your town and have some fun.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenLove the two figures in the mural plus the bouquet!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenVery cool and well done!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDat is een leuk afbeelding. Als het iets kleiner was, zou je denken dat ze daar echt zaten.
