Street games

This photo at the exhibnition of yesterday's post caught my eye and brought back memories. Children playing with a rope you had to knit at a lamppole and than running around until the rope had winded around the pole and than you had to lift your feet of the ground and you could hover and rotate. Those games I never see here anymore in the streets. The lamppoles have changed anyway now.

Sinterklaas

 We celebrate "Sinterklaas" at December 5. Sint Nicolas is a Bishop from Spain who brings presents  for the children at December 5th. He arrived last Saturday in our country and this inviting bookstore in Amsterdam decorated its shop with presents and miters.

Amsterdam shops

We had a tea in Amsterdam with a view at a "Condomeri store". Lots of tourists passing by couldn't resist a curious look at the shop window and  went inside to bye an Amsterdam "souvenir".
 

The century of Juliana

 Went to an exhibition about Queen Juliana, the grandmother of our King Willem Alexander.

Her wedding dress.

The couple had a modern taste for those times to choose these chairs in their home.
