Brocante

Specially for blogger "Bertiebo" I found  these photo's in the archives of 2014  of an antique high chair for little children painted in so called "Hindeloper" style. It was exposed at a brocante market in Almere Haven.

And a cot for little children in the same style. It is always a fun annually market in September here but was last year sadly cancelled due to the Covid pandemic.

Brocante (2)

At the Brocante I mentioned yesterday you could see some special items. This lady had made lamps from all kind of materials as hats, baskets,  cooking pans and baking molds.

Jewelry.

Wedgwood.

Nice dolls. I must admit I didn't buy anything, I have a house full of all this stuff, myself, I can almost start a Brocante myself  :)  but I like  to watch at all the items others have collected.

Signs

At the Brocante in Almere Haven last Sunday I saw these two signs with spells that some people like to hang in their homes. The upper one says:  "After work it is sweet to rest" and the other one says: "Who does not find his happiness at home, he will find it nowhere".

Antique and brocante

Last weekend we had an Antique and Curiosity market in our village at the Harbour Days. I like it to watch all the old items, some of them remember me of my parents interior.

I like dolls, I played so often with them as a child and they all had their own names.

In that zinc tub at the right I had may bath in the kitchen, we didn't have a bathroom in the houses in Amsterdam during the fourties and part of the fifties. My parents had a bath in a bathhouse outside the house.

Brocante

At the "Brocante" (Antique Market) in Almere Haven last weekend.

An old Dutch wooden "High Chair"for little children painted in the traditional "Hindelooper art"style. This is a special style of painted furniture, walls and objects and includes colorful decorative flower patterns, bible prints and sea scenes. This painting was created around 1650 and at that time very popular in the so called "captains-houses" in the little village Hindeloopen.

Here another example of the painting art.

I am aware of showing "girlish" items, so here something for the male followers.

Brocante

Last Sunday we had a Brocante in our little city Almere Haven as part of the Harbour days.

There were really pretty authentic things to see.

Old dutch wooden skates on which everyone of my age had to learn to skate and the adults used them too. There were no skates with shoes at that time yet.

What to think about your own "Donald Duck" chair?

The weather was great with lots of sunshine, but it was the last summer day we had, now the weather has changed in rain and low temperatures, we are moving to autumn, up to coats and boots....

This woman was enjoying the sun on her own boat along the brocante not noticing the crowds passing by.
