Those sheep were almost invisible in unknown plants for me..

At our cycling tour last Sunday we passed these hairy goats.

And impressive Irish cattle.

I wonder how they can see anything with all those hairs.

Looking through the glass.

I have a new pet, he lives outside at my window. He must like it here watching me in the kitchen for weeks now. As long as he stays outside, I don't mind and say hello to him through the glass.

At the Zoo

Summertimes

Mother Duck has eight little ones following her. After the cold weather we recently had, we are suddenly plunged into high summer temperatures of 26-30 C (78-86F) The weather is very whimsical but everyone is enjoying it outdoors,  end of the week we seem to return to cold weather again....

Hide and seek

This old building in the Amsterdam Zoo" Artis" used to house monkeys in earlier times but has been  turned into a tropical habitat for small animals.

When walking around the place we didn't see any animals at all, until a nice lady who worked there pointed us at all kind of silent not moving little critters. We had to look up and saw these bats hanging.

These iguanas were hardly visible with their green colours

And what to think about this mini monkey as big as your hand.

High up against the ceiling were two other little monkeys and one behind them. They were all champions in hiding!

Geese

Between all the oldtimers suddenly a group of geese marched along behind a girl with a whistle.

Marching makes thirsty.

They had their own area and were part of the farmers foodmarket which took place at the same time.

Exotic creatures

These prehistoric animals I saw at the city farm the Kemphaan in Almere. They were behind a thick glass window which reflected a bit, but at least they didn't move at all.

And here another two, you must forgive me by not knowing their names, there were no signs.

 Blogger is having trouble to upload today I had another picture but I can't get it on my blog grrrrrr.

Bully

This swan looks beautiful and very majestic but he is a bully.

I watched the ducks and swans in this parc, the little white one on the left wanted to go in the water too, but the swan prevented that. He was waiting for him and looking at him and the duck tried several times to go down and than was intimidated by the bully.

And then there were suddenly two of them, that was to much and he gave up and turned around. Animals are just like humans.

Urban life

Waiting at a take-away food shop in an underground station in Amsterdam, I was fascinated by this pigeon snacking a bag of chips. He had opened it, took one, and threw it behind, to eat it later. Then went back to pick another one, it was a kind of self service snack bar for him. He only stepped aside when people passed him to close but returned immediately. 

Springtime

This breeding swan I spotted in Almere. With her beak she was arranging the things in her nest around her.

 At another place these proud parents were showing their seven! little ones.

Temperatures have suddenly raised to 22 degrees C (71.6 F) But for only two days, then we will go back to 15 C again (59F).

Sunny Saturday

We had a very nice sunny day yesterday. This sweety was taking a sunbath at the steps of the "Old- Church" in Amsterdam.

And it was not to cold to go with the flow.

Alpacas in the polder

In the Kromslootpark in Almere you could see this summer three Alpacas from Peru. They are here to protect a flock of sheep. Because the lambs were raved by foxes many times, the mothers left the lambs behind. The Alpacas are not afraid of foxes and attack them so the flock is not harmed.

 

It is funny to see these exotic animals with their long neck in our park in the wild. I read it was an experiment until the end of August, but they are still here so I suppose it was a succes.

Animals in Lille

Not only children were pushed around in Lille, this doggie had his own buggy.

 

First I thought this man had a dog jumping against his legs.

 

It happened to be a goat! He was walking around with him on a roap.
