 After the emotionel visit to yesterday's Memorial Monument we decided to walk to the Artis  Zoo. We hadn't been there for months all due to the Corona  pandemic. 

Flamingos

 Flamingos in the Artis Zoo in Amsterdam a few years ago. Have not been there yet.

Critters

 A Capricorn I saw in the Amsterdam Zoo from the archives of 2018. I haven't been there for more than  a year now. The Zoo was closed  for public and I read that the animals missed  the visitors too it was very quiet without people around. Linking to "Saturday's Critters"

Zoo

This was in 2018 when the Amsterdam Zoo "Artis" had a young elephant.  Last week the Zoo announced the birth of another one, but due to the Corona, the Zoo is closed for public now.. So we have to wait to have a look.

Herons

A heron in Artis the Zoo. They don't belong to the inhabitants of the Zoo but many of them like to fly in to have a nice fish snack.

Here they visit the Pelicans.

The penguins have recently got a net around their residence to ward off the herons.

Sculptures

The  Artis Zoo in Amsterdam has some sculptures of animals.

They are placed close to the same real animals.

Meerkat

I was in the Artis Zoo in Amsterdam and saw my friend the meerkat again. Unfortunately he wouldn't raise on his hind legs.

While his mates were messing around.

Someone must be alert, you never know what danger comes out of the sky.
