Miffy or "Nijntje"as we call her, is a creation of Dutch author, artist, illustrator and graphic artist "Dick Bruna" These children books have gone all over the world and Miffy is celebrating that her first book was published 60 years ago in 1955.
60 artists were given a large, white statue of Miffy. Each artist was allowed his or her own creativity to create an unique Miffy. These statues are placed around the Netherlands and Japan in a parade, here at the Museum square in Amsterdam.
Everybody loves Miffy, I read the books endless with my children when they were young.
