The "Museum of Modern Art" in Amsterdam has a great design collection. This chair designed by Italian "Joe Colombo" caught my eye because we have the same chair at home!
We bought it 42 years ago just because we liked it, this one is orange because it was the time of brown and orange interiors. It is made of folded wood.
The next thing that looked familar to me was this crockery from the Finland.
We got the crockery from our parents of both sides as a wedding present. It was rather expensive but it is very robust, because we still use it daily and only some coffee cups has gone.
So we live between museum pieces here!
How wonderful to come face to face with a piece in the museum that you have in your own home Marianne, and a very cool chair it is.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThat must have been a surprise to see the very same items that you use from day to day residing in a museum. The best I can do is maybe see some of ours in a thrift shop.
Wow. I can't wait to see that museum! I think I would look up the value on that chair online...and then have it insured...no kidding!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenoooh, that is just so funny!!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenthe chair looks great. is it comfortable?
The process of "folded wood" must be quit interesting. Love the casserole dish...my favorite kitchen equipment.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThe chair is probably worth a lot of money now. How cool is that having one at home. We also have crockery similar to that.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenha, that's neat.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI can see why you'd get the blonde chair, the black one looks like a huge dark blob.
and now orange is definitely back in favour! the chair does look neat and the dishes are basic and sturdy looking. I still have my orange Le Creuset pots and pans from 30 years ago from before all the trendy new colours to match your kitchen.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenPopular here in Norway too, and now it is popular by young people (again) who likes the retro-style.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI still like it!:)
I love the last pics...indeed expensive means often great quality!
