The last weekend before December 5th, the celebration of the presents evening of Sinterklaas (Saint Nicolas), so Sinterklaas was present in some shops as here in the bookshop. Children could have a chat with him and his knight Zwarte Piet (Black Pete). Most children however are to impressed and shy when they see him so close by, to talk to him.
What a handsome man is your Sinterklaas!!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI just learned something today: I had never heard of Black Pete. I love his colorful costume! That little girl seems unsure, but I am betting she warmed up to him quickly... :-) Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI could see where a little child might be afraid of one or both. Images from bad dreams.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI have never heard of Black Pete before so that was interesting. It is amazing how many children are quite frightened of Santa Claus even without Black Pete.
BeantwoordenVerwijderena sweet capture, I like the look of this Saint Nicolas, more regal than in America.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenPrachtige sfeerfoto.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenVoor de kleintjes is het nog zo'n heerlijk feest .
BeantwoordenVerwijderenLovely colours.......oh to be young and innocent again!
