After a ten years renovation the Rijks Museum in Amsterdam was finally opened last Saturday by Queen Beatrix with spectacular orange fireworks
After the opening people were allowed to visit the museum for free until 12 o'clock midnight. Well tell somebody it is for free and here they come. We decided to come back another time....
I am amazed at the number of people waiting in lineup. I think I would come back another day, as lineups always irritate me with hunger. ha,ha Seriously, I stand in a lineup and I get hungry - I always have a snack on me, so it works out. Nice to have a band and fireworks and most importantly have Queen Beatrix open the Museum.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWow look at those queues, I would have changed my mind too. IT must be something special to have taken 10 years to renovate. Hope you will show us one day.

Filip
Oh my that is an impressive queue Marianne, better to come back for sure..it looks cold but at least not raining..
BeantwoordenVerwijderen10 years!! so weird!!
BeantwoordenVerwijdereni heard it is very beautiful... but what a crazy lines...
Okay , free is the right price but there has to be something worth while seeing. The long line up shows how good this would be.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI will need to return to Amsterdam now they have finished the refurbishment. The last couple of times I visited it was only partly open so I lok forward to seeing the rest of the museum. I will definitely wait until the queues have died down though.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWhat an exciting day for your country!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenwow free or not I wouldn't like to be in that line. I went to the Rijksmuseum last year as only a little part was open
BeantwoordenVerwijderenMy plan was to go to A'dam this year and go to the museum (it didn't matter about the 10 years to me, as I haven't been back in almost 20). but maybe by next year the crowds will have died down a bit :)
