Translated in english it says "To help the miserable ones, the pawnshop is there for a little money".
The pawnshop was founded in 1614 and is a municipal not-for-profit establishment. It is the oldest money donor of Amsterdam with six branches, two shops and an auction house.
And here you see the money rolling.
Very impressive entrance.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWonderful detail shots! Thanks.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI am so amazed with the beauty of this building. What they call a pawn shop here would horrify you, in comparison. There is this vast architectural beauty in your country, even at the pawn show. Just lovely Marianne - have a wonderful day.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenNoodt druftigen. Mooi.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenOkay...that is the prettiest Pawn Shop I have ever seen! I had no idea they even existed there!. They have certainly been around a very long time. Guess it proves there will always be a desperate need for quick money. just wish that the stuff pawned was always theirs.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenA totally different meaning of the words here in the States. Think one step above junk shop or thrift store.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenNice to see a bit of Europe from over here.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDe Gouden Hoorn.

What a tremendous tradition of helping those in need...miserable!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI lke the money pouring out of the door mantle. It is a great entrance.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI, too, am surprised at the elegance of this pawn shop whereas our are a bit shabby looking. Love the detail of the coins tumbling out.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI believe the pawn shop is still operational.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenik ben hier veel te lang niet geweest!
BeantwoordenVerwijderendit is leuk!! noodruftigen? hahahaha
