Between Christmas and New Year's Eve many people had holidays and decided to go to a museum. This queue is of visitors of the Van Gogh Museum that not even is seen in this photo, it is around the corner. This is just the end of the queue.
Another long queue for the Municipal Museum of Modern Art with an exhibition of the painter Malevich, which we still want to see, but maybe another time...
A Happy New Year to all fellowbloggers with lots of beautiful photos and stories.
Erg! De lust ontgaat me meteen. Maar die drukte zal na deze week toch hopelijk wel wat minder erg zijn.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenGood Lord - those two lines of people are about the size of our townspeople and I am amazed how many stood in line in cold weather.....but then I would do that if I were there too with some hot chocolate to pass around. Happy 2014 Marianne.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenOh my, that is one of the very few things in life I have no patience for...standing in line. Can't explain it. Just the way it is.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDearest Marianne,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThat is quite a queue indeed and that in cold weather... Everyone wants to be indoors and enjoy the museum but at what price? How long would the wait be?
Hugs,
Mariette
Amazing queue ~ Wonderful shot ~ Happy New Year to you ~ carol, xxx
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThe queues tell me that lots of people in Holland have a very good appreciation of art. They not only support art with their feet but also their money.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHappy New Year. I don't regard queuing as a happy experience and I doubt that I would do it and I know TOH definitely wouldn't.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenwe saw it on new years day. crazy, that line!!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenVisiting a museum or gallery is the perfect way to get out of the chilly weather don't you think Marianne.. Only problem is EVERYONE has the same idea :)
