At the Museum Square in Amsterdam the usual pond has changed in a skating rink with a typical dutch "skinny bridge".
In the background you can see the "Rijks Museum".
Children learn to skate with the help of a chair to keep their balance.
It was fun to watch all the joy everybody had. Real ice or snow is far away here, temperatures are not winterly at all 12 C (53.6 F) an lots of rain.
When you didn't feel like skating you could have a drink and watch your children.
Oh, I like the chair idea, so long as people don't fall on it.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenhahahahahaha! we posted the same pic more or less, today!!
BeantwoordenVerwijdereni loved watching this. it was so beautiful!
i also already saw your husbands photos and thought it was so cool he posted one of the old paintings next to it....
Yes we are all fishing in the same pond, or ice rink now :))
VerwijderenThe skating looks like lots of fun but the temperature sounds like spring. ;))
BeantwoordenVerwijderenprachtige sfeerbeelden
BeantwoordenVerwijderenwe hebben ook een ijspiste maar ze is volledig ingepakt ..rechtover het koninklijk paleis in brussel
Love it that you and CaT posted similar photos today! Have you two met?!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenno, we still never did. although we once were in the same warehouse when we were here for a short visit last december.... (we then also found out because of photos we posted, hahahaha)
VerwijderenJust love the skating photos and a nice bunch of blades there on the ice. I have hockey skates myself and would love to skate under the bridge - then have a cuppa something warm and a bit of whatever is served as lunch. Reminds me of when we were kids and skated at lake with my parents - we always had hot chocolate and sandwiches :) Lovely post Marianne.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenLooks like lots of fun Marianne..I'd be holding on to that chair all the time :)

BeantwoordenVerwijderenI am not a fan of the cold but do like to ice skate. I'd prefer roller skating more though.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenBlue skates? I've never seen them before. There's a large variety on these rinks. They look to be having a lot of fun.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWhat a clever idea to use a chair to help you balance. Did you have a skate?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenEen fantastische baan, maar niets gaat boven natuurijs.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenGroetjes,

Dat ziet er erg leuk en echt Hollands uit.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenFijn weekend,
Such a fun event. I tried to learn and was successful to some degree.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHappy New Year!
Dearest Marianne,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThat is a great idea for turning this pond into a skating rink and it is so typically Dutch; this could make a modern day painting!
Hugs,
Mariette
