In this post of last october I wrote about the Flock of Sheep that is touring around in our little village Almere Haven. Now spring has come and many lambs are born they have returned to do their work. They eat the grasslands instead of machines and mankind.
They also do some other nature management as eating the Hogweed and advanced trees.
When we walked home we came by a second flock in the residential area.
In a group there always must be a silly one to make the difference.
Looks like the silly one found an audience. :-)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI enjoy both today's photo and the one you linked from last year. The last picture is very sweet! Don't tell them what I plan for Easter dinner, though!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThat little fella is just happy to be out and munching on such goodies. Great idea to have lambs eat and fatten up, and not machines.....like who would have ever thought of that! Isn't that what people did in the olde days before machines. Nice to see the lambs out n about. Love that last photo :)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI love this idea. When not in a fenced area are they cared for by a Shepard and perhaps dogs?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenAt the last photo you can see a removable fence in the background. The shepard puts it there wit his dogs. In this way they graze each time another part. The fence is electrified so no other dog or people can come in.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThey are cute to see , and that's clever to use them ! So they only bring pleasure by all means!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDearest Marianne,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenSuch a lovely sight to see sheep with their cute lambs graze the water side. Sure they will also prune back young tree saplings, which is good otherwise human hands would have to eliminate them. The only hazard could be the traffic but I understand that there is a shepherd with them.
You are so blessed with such sights in your neighborhood!
Hugs,
Mariette
Smart idea with the sheep. Everybody wins.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI have lambs on my blog today, too. Don't you just love them?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenand so many. Top these sheep.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenGreetings,
Filip
