After a beautiful but exhaustive tour through Ireland we are back home again. Twelve days getting up at six o'clock in eleven different beds and departing at eight o'clock with the bus, was for us to get used to. But we managed and saw so much, I am still sorting out my (too) many photos and just pecked some out to show you. This is the coast of Northern Ireland in the county Londonderry.
Houses with thatched roofs in Adare.
A Celtic cross in Monasterboice.
Here you can see how we travelled from Dublin to Belfast to the North and and so around along the coast until we ended in Dublin again. This is not the exact route we followed, but I found this map at the internet and shows most of it we saw. I will show some more in next posts.
Southern Ireland and Northern Ireland both make for a lovely vacation - hope that you visited the Giant's Causeway, and crossed that bridge. It is not as frightening as it looks. I am following you now.

BeantwoordenVerwijderenDearest Marianne,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenYou are lucky for having been on a tour like that! We've been all over Ireland, also rising early like 6:00 AM but only to work and give seminars. That's also a nice way of sight seeing but a lot less relaxed.
Welcome back home!
Hugs,
Mariette
Oh, geweldig. Ik ga mee genieten, gelukkig niet 's morgens om 6 uur.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHow exciting! I never got to Ireland and I always wanted to. It looks like you took a great trip.
