A cake for our national team! After a very long evening the match ended in the night with the victory against Costa Rica. Then our neigbourhood exploded with some fireworks, so it was a short night for everyone.
This cake "Chocolate Kaizerin with Pumped Strawberries and its Public Custard" is made in 2014 by French artist Vincent Olinet (1981). It is exhibited in the Hague.
Ah, there's just no stopping that Netherlands team! :-)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI had a feeling that I could find out who won by coming here! So happy for The Netherlands. I can almost hear the fireworks. Did I ever tell you that when I moved to the Netherlands and experienced my first New Year's Eve? The Dutch know a thing or two about fireworks. I was convinced World War III had started!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThat cake looks like a couple I have made:) Janey
Dearest Marianne,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenIt was quite a nail biter yesterday but the Orange team made it in the end! So indeed a big hurray!
Enjoy the festivities and now up to the semi finals on July 9.
Hugs,
Mariette
Hooray for the Netherlands! And hooray for the fun cake sculpture!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI did think about you when I heard that happy news Marianne, congrats to your team!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenAnd I bet the Dutch were happy with the win. the cake would be a suitable tribute to the team.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI think if I ever baked a layered cake that is what it would look like.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDat ziet er super feestelijk uit!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenCongrats on the win..... not sure about that leaning tower of cake!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThat cake looks perilous!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenGood for the Dutch team.
It has to eat soon, before it is up and down :)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenLooks nice.
