After weeks of sunshine and high temperatures, the weather changed suddenly in heavy rains. During Sunday and Monday we had these terrible downpours all day long which is rather unusual for our country. We are used to rainfall but these looked like tropical rains as somebody is opening a tab on and off. A few moments of sunshine and there it goes again.
It also happened a few weeks ago and there were even some floods in Amsterdam! (photo from internet)
A new form of entertainment now in Amsterdam? :-)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenOMG! Thant's a lot of rain! Weather is as crazy as the world itself.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThe weather here has been strange too... I am still hoping summer comes back!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenNot sure I'd want to float in a street! Very strange.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenOh wow that is a lot of rain Marianne.. you are so right, the weather is changing everywhere!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenSend your rain to California...please.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenIt is a rainy day here today....But nor heavy enough to get my raft out :)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenRain is often good when it replenishes the land, but not so good when there is flooding!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWe had endless rain last week. It was a bear to put up with.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenZe beweren de koudste dag in 90 jaar !!!!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenGroetjes,
Filip
We have had 2 days terrible raining, and it doesn't stop yet.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenYour photos are very funny.
Seems we are all suffering these tropical rainfalls.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThere does seem to be a change in weather patterns even though some still refute it.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThe abnormally heavy downpours worry me.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDearest Marianne,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenIndeed this looks like a tropical wet monsoon...
Hope it will stop and that you have still some nice weeks of summer!
Hugs,
Mariette

BeantwoordenVerwijderenI'm going to be in Amsterdam in September and am a little perturbed at the long range forecasts with so many days of 'isolated showers', etc.
