Monday Mural

A mural on a garage door somewhere in Amsterdam. I see ET on the bike but I have no idea what this is all about. I googled the name "Zara Zust",  seen in the middle,  but there I was not much wiser. Somebody who is on twitter, pinterest and you tube, you name it.

P.S. I found out this "template work" was made by Swiss duo "Bustart & Zaira"

    1. Je krijgt er oog voor, soort blogdeformatie. Ik let op reflecties, luchten, hekken en murals, niet dat ik ze opzoek, maar het valt je gewoon eerder op.

  6. I took a group of small children to see ET many years ago and was the one in the group who wept the most. Still is one of my favorite movies, and I LOVED that scene. For years, "ET Call Home" was the message I used for my own children. I have also introduced my grandkids to the movie.

  12. Dearest Marianne,
You sure do have a very keen eye for spotting unusual murals! This one certainly fits the bill.
Had to laugh with your attempt to translate: daar werd ik ook niet veel wijzer van. Did you know that for about two years we had two Dutchmen that wrote such literally translated Dutch sayings in English, next to the Dutch version for the Atlanta Holland Times. It made for lots of good laughs but for understanding that, you must be bi-lingual.
    Hugs and happy new week.

    1. Yes I remember that book, it was hilarious. Now we have a dutch football trainer Louis van Gaal, working in England and he has the same strange expressions in english in interviews. It is here on televison every week, his last quote was "This is other cook, or is it biscuit in english?" :)

    2. Do you sew me an ear on?... This was not in a book but it is our monthly edition for all Dutch people living in Georgia/USA. Two gentlemen contributed in a hilarious way. http://www.atlantahollandclub.com/
      Have a nice day!

  16. It looks to me like ET has pulled a gun on the guy and is essentially bike "jacking" him to get home. Makes the whole image even funnier. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
