I am back from Copenhagen, Danmark. This little mermaid is a small monument made in 1913 by Edvard Eriken who used his wife Eline as model. It has become an icon in Copenhagen. I arrrived home last night late and have a lot of photos to sort out and many other things to do, so tomorrow I tell you more.
I have never seen it life, but it looks like such a cute little statue !

BeantwoordenVerwijderenShe's a world famous mermaid.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenOne of my favorite stories. As a child I lived in a house on the shore of Lake Michigan. I often crawled on rocks and played as The Littlest Mermaid. Love the statue.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenYes a famous statue. Looking forward to hear about your adventures.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenLeuk om iets meer te weten over deze zeemeermin. Ik ben benieuwd naar je foto's van Kopenhagen. Een stad waar wij al vele malen omheen zijn gereden, maar nog nooit hebben bezocht. Fijne zondag,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThis statue is most lovely, truly sweet. I had a friend that used to (really) dress as a mermaid and swim the waters where the tour boats were. She ordered the costume from some Movie Makers who made costumes. No one paid her to do this....she just showed up now and then much to the delight of tourists on board the tour boats that were going on a tour of the area - especially the children.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenJ'adore this lovely statue Marianne, it's so perfect.
