As many big cities in Europe Amsterdam has a lot of pigeons flying around. In 2001 they counted 12 thousend of them, including 2750 in the innercity.
For some people they are a plaque with lots of dirty pigeon droppings, but others feed them. The seagull didn't like the pigeon food.
But they sat fraternally together on the fence afterwards

Pigeons seem to thrive in the cities of the world.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenAlways nice to see pigeons. Have a great weekend.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHello, 12,000 pigeons is a lot of birds in the city. They are pretty, I like the gulls too. Great shots. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy weekend!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenLovely birds, and good to see them get along.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenOh my goodness. That's a lot of pigeons! I recently daw a documentary about them, and would you believe they know people by their faces? If you feed a pigeon peanuts it will remember you, even if you return wearing different clothes.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenSorry - "daw" should be "saw."
BeantwoordenVerwijderenBelas fotografias.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenGostei.
Um abraço e bom fim de semana.
Wy do the pigeons LOVE the cities? The number you have there in Amsterdam is mind boggling. I know some think they are a pain in the neck, but I have always loved them. These pictures show how contented they are in your beautiful city.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI like pigeons but I guess there are those who do not.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenJa de meningen zijn verdeeld. Het zijn er ook echt heel veel.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenLeuk om ze zo op de foto te zien.
These photos could be also in my city Helsinki (of course in summer :). I'm so useful them that most of time I don't see them… Nice photos.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenPigeons and gulls get a bad reputation with some, but I don't mind them at all.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenNot only do they congregate in cities, they are visible everywhere on the grain bins and silos in the countryside here.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenPigeons here do not come very close to us . Maybe because we don't feed them.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenAh, nice! A fraternity of fine feathered friends. :-)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenSuper rainy day shots Marianne, love the 'odd one out' seagull pic. Can you believe we actually had a few drops today :)
