An advertisement of the Rijksmuseum on the so called "pepper-pot"in Amsterdam.
This transfomer pole is a transformer station in the form of an advertising column ( "pepper-pot"). The exterior of the pole is rented for advertisements. Such transformer columns appeared at the beginning of the twentieth century in various Dutch cities.

Fotografia fantástica uma maravilha.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenUm abraço e boa semana.
I like the way that the 'pepper-pot' has been decorated with painting that also has a building shaped like a 'pepper-pot'.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI like it when art work is added to the utility boxes or poles.
BeantwoordenVerwijderena lovely addition to the streetscape
BeantwoordenVerwijderenAh, so the utility companies sell the space?! Naive me thought these murals were just an attempt by communities to beautify their cities. I like this mural very much!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHow fascinating that advertising columns have been around for for more than a century! This mural is done in tasteful colours and I like the style of the artist's work.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI'm noticing more and more efforts to camouflage utilities in various places around where I live, too.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThe beautiful artwork enhances a mundane piece of necessary machInert. Nice!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenInteresting way to advertise, Marianne.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWell, that's a smart idea so that we don't have to luck at ugly electrical equipment.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDit was geheel onbekend voor mij. Weer wat geleerd :)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenGood use of an otherwise boring post.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenSuch a beautiful image they have used there!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThat's a good way to conceal what would otherwise be blunt utilitarian equipment.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenLooks nice.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThat is so cool.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenIt goes with the place, both -- the pepper pot and the colours of the ad.
Awesome find. :)
Hides the transformer and puts the wall space to good use.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDearest Marianne,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThat is just a lovely way of advertising; love that pepper pot design.
Hugs,
Mariette
The transformer structure is so big. Love that it is round and decorated. Amsterdam does everything up so fine.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThe image advertised on the pepper pot makes winter look inviting. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenPepper pot advertising... how fun! Wonder if it's expensive Marianne, it is prime position there in the city!
