Last week Amsterdam was overcrowded with tourists and people who had holidays. A place to have a drink was hard to find, so we decided to go to the Central Station.
At the train platform is a hidden pearl, a complete renovated former first class waiting room from 1889 where you can have a drink or a diner.
As you can see there were not many people.
And we had a nice tea with Meringue and Apfelstrudel, sitting in a comfortable leather club armchair.
That really does look very inviting. I love the warmth of your photos with the vaious amber colours glowing.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenGostei da perspectiva da primeira fotografia.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenUm abraço e continuação de uma boa semana.
Thank you for sharing that gem. A veritable haven in a crowded city.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThat is a neat find...and so pretty
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThat was smart on your part. And it is a lovely little place to have tea and a sweet. We love our tea.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI very much like the dark wood in that dining room. And the tea and strudel look very tasty!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWhat a 'first class' spot for tea Marianne :)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenA delightful retreat for the travellers!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI would be happy with my good fortune in finding the place all to myself. "I'll have what they are having."
BeantwoordenVerwijderenNog altijd eerste-klas kwaliteit en uitstraling. Ziet er gezellig uit.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenElegant, right down to the glass mugs. I can imagine it filled with first class passengers and their bags a century ago.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenIt's handy when you know all the good places hidden away.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThe treats look tasty, and that waiting room is a beauty.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThat really is a great looking place.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDearest Marianne,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenOh wow, that is ages ago since we had anything like that at the Central Station.
Very nice ambiance and they have really kept it up very well.
Made me smile at the Pickwick tea glasses.
Hugs,
Mariette
