It has become a familiar sound in the city, tourists don't carry their luggage anymore but roll it on wheels. Some inhabitants in quiet streets are complaining about the everlasting rolling sound in the early mornings and late evenings.

I like your street photography.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThey are a bit noisy.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenOh my gosh Marianne, so many people in the second shot! Sometimes pulling your suitcase is the only way :)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI had never thought of it, but they certainly make a sound, specially if being rolled late at night or early morning, when everything is quiet! At least it's more comfortable for the tourist instead of holding a heavy suitcase...
BeantwoordenVerwijderenBrrr... rrr... rrr... Yes, sometimes they are annoying.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWe do not have that sound around here, but it is an excellent way to pull luggage. I have a couple of these as well. No more heavy carrying.....and they are noisy, like a kid pulling a cart.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThat was what I was thinking while reading your post - the racket they must make rolling over the brickwork.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI thought I recognized the city in your photo on Our World Tuesday. Amsterdam! We've been there more than once, and it is a wonderful place to visit. I never gave any thought to the sound of rolling luggage, however. You're right, it must be very annoying. You'll be pleased to know we put our suitcases into a locker at the train station before we embark on a walk in Amsterdam.

I do not like the noise from the rollers on luggage. we also have to put up with noise from sports bags like hockey as they are on rollers now.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThe price of popularity, b. :-)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThe same happens here- today I was watching one of them trying to roll the case through falling snow.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI'm surprised people would be bothered by the sound of rollies, as we call them. I think they are a wonderful invention for travelers!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI don't mind them because they make it so much easier for me when I travel. I can see why it would be annoying to hear them constantly though.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI imagine the noise of the wheels on the bricks would be very annoying!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThey may be noisy but they certainly are convenient!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenFortunately, it has been invented rollers !!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWhile they keep big fuss paved streets, they are so convenient.
By the way, in the second picture there are a terrible lot of people.
I love these street photos.
