Piet Hein Eek (1967) is a Dutch industrial designer. He graduated in 1990 at the Academy of Industrial Design in Eindhoven with a cabinet of scrab wood, which is now called the "Classic Box in Scrap Wood"
In a time of "excess" he chose for simple material and sober design.
I visited his showroom in Eindhoven and loves this coffee table with stools. But his fame has raised the prices to high for me.
The showroom is above the workshop where you can have a look in the production process.
The company moved into a former Philips factory in Eindhoven.
They even make wallpaper with scrap wood design!
Ooh, nice!
