Some bridges in Amsterdam are decorated with sculptures made by city sculptor "Hildo Krop" (1884-1970). In 1924 he made two identical sculptures for this bridge.
The head of a faun seems to blow the curved strip of the bridle, as if it were a flute.
Gosto desta escultura.

I don't know much about art but I like this.

Mooi en karakteristiek.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenStrikingly carved. I can't remember them being called fauns, but apparently they are. I'd recalled them as satyrs.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI wouldn't have noticed without you pointing it out.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWhat an interesting looking sculpture that is.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenAll the best Jan

BeantwoordenVerwijderenI like these a lot. Very interesting.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenVery nice and unique!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWe don't see very many of these sculptures.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThe faun looks a bit lonesome and pensive.
