The Drenthe Museum in Assen has an old and modern part. This is a tile tableau in the basement of the old part. I don't know exactly how old it is, but the text is in old Dutch language.
I will try to translate, it is an expression of the farmer how happy he is living here with his land and his cattle and to live here the life just as his father Jacob did.

It really looks very old, but I'm glad it's well preserved Marianne.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenLovely!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDat museum staat nog op mijn lijstje. Groetjes
BeantwoordenVerwijderenSuch a pretty tile mural and a lovely sentiment.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThat is a wonderful tile mural. It does look old. Perhaps 18th or 19th Century?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenEven without the wording, it feels Dutch.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenMooi dat dit soort tegeltableaus bewaard zijn gebleven. Ben ook wel benieuwd hoe oud het werkelijk is.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenMurals have been around for a long time. Only the medium changes.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThanks for that lovely translation which completes the charm of this art!
