"Signs, signs 2"

In 1928 The Olympic Games took place in Amsterdam. Around the Olympic Stadium a whole new residential area was built.. The streets were all given appropriate names, like this one "Marathon Street" Watch the decoration in the colum of the running sporters. As a child I went to school in that neighbourhood and even my school was named "Olympic School" ! Linking to "Signs, signs 2"

  1. ...for me the 1932 Olympics overshadows the 1928. Thanks for the reminder that Amsterdam was an Olympic host city. Thanks for stopping, take care!

  4. People are obviously proud of having hosted the Olympics. I have always thought the marathon is a primer event.

  5. I always liked watching the Olympic Marathon. I never ran one but used to run cross country track and enjoyed it very much. These days I walk. :)

  6. Love the detail on the pillar. I think every city where the Olympics are held is left with especially built areas. I wonder if they will go ahead this year?
