Earth Sheltered, if well drained, and it has enough light, it would be very energy efficient.
It's fascinating how it's built into the hillside.
We call them Earth Sheltered Homes. They were popular for a while (warm in winter, cool in summer) but they never really caught on. Maybe too dark inside??
