Don't know what to think about this grave in Saint-Paul-de-Vence in the South of France. Is it a bed, a stretcher? Anyway it is different from the usual tombs.
i am curious what is written on it? just the name of date of birth/death? the color is not so nice. had it been transparent or purple, or transparent purple, i would have liked it better... ;)
Kitty, It is an iron cross. CaT, No, I didn't come close to see the what was written on it. I was in a hurry and lost even the tourgroup while photographing!
So very wierd. I can see the iron cross atop the head of the 'bed', but why the bed.
It looks a bit like a hospital bed used during wartime. It also looks a bit like a trampoline. But I am really at a loss to understand why anyone would use this as a memorial to a departed loved one. There must be a reason.
It sure is unusual.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenoh, how odd?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenthat looks like it's made of metal, with stamped lettering? What is the part sticking up near the top? is that a holder for flowers?

I agree with Nicola...
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHow strange. It looks as though it is inviting you to lie down next to the grave.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenyep, sun lounger was my first thought, too!
