Monday Mural

At first sight a mess of graffiti, but I noticed some nice details at this mural in Amsterdam.

This nice little boy (girl?). About the name Tona I could only find a place in Spain and Colombia.

And in the middle of the graffiti mess a portrait of Ernest Hemingway!

    I am thinking about how wonderfully talented the artists are to do any of this, each with their own styles. I am really impressed with the detail in the painting of Mr. Hemingway and the young boy/girl Tona. Very nice find Marianne and you thrill us once again with something different.     I think the graffiti adds to it. Hope rising out of poverty, perhaps? Depends on what the original images under the graffiti were meant to represent, I guess, Looks like some others are hiding.

    Looks like a public mural where anyone can make their own contribution. Unfortunately for most their talents are limited to tagging.

    That boarded up area looks made for graffiti artists to take over. It is a shame that most of it is simply tagging.

    Yes , I think the graffiti covers things up. I'm not a fan of graffiti. I don't get it. One does have to keep an open mind and look at things.

    Would love to see what the original mural looked like hey Marianne, I like that Ernest Hemingway was obliterated, maybe the tagger was a fan :)
