This "Lightscape" is an abstract depiction of an urban environment based on light and shadows in the city.
This abstract city comes to life through the use of projections, lights and sounds and interactive elements.
Visitors can walk into the installation ans interact with the shadows and images. It was magical to watch the changing colours and patterns.
And the last one "Floating Light" by Wouter Brave. The countless light bars floatin the dark space creating an abstract world of light. When walking through the bars they start to move and dance like an endless choreography.
These light shows are just spectacular!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenVERY cool pictures!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenOh, how I wish I was there in person to see it. What a neat experience to see it up close and personal....but a bit cold I am sure.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHi Genie, until 19 January you can see a lot of the large art works by boat, and until 5 January there's a lovely walking tour. See www.amsterdamlightfestival.com
VerwijderenAbsolutely lovely - wish I could walk among the lights.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenAmazing!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThis would be something that even I would brave the cold to go out and see.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenBeautiful series of shots of the light festival !
BeantwoordenVerwijderenFijne dinsdag Marianne.
This is pure magic with light. The last one would make me dizzy and I would fall on my butt,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDearest Marianne,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenAmsterdam has done quite a job in creating fabulous lights by different artists.
That helps make the darkest season very enjoyable and fun.
Hugs,
Mariette
i want to go tooooo!! some time ago they did something like this with the dom in utrecht and the university campus, that also looked very nice. but then i was still in boston...
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWell go, you live in Amsterdam. From 5 o'clock it is dark enough and afterwards have a diner for two.:))
VerwijderenWhat a terrific way to brighten the dull and gloomy wintry nights.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenIt must be a spectacular sight!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenYour first pictures were intriguing but then I hit the last one. Wow!! How enchanting it must be to walk through the dancing tubes of light.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenOver the 3 blogs you've written there are a lot of different styles - the lamp installation I particularly liked (do you think the artist has borrowed lamps from all his friends and relations - can he know that many people). There must be quite a lot of artists involved. Looks great.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThe lamps were borrowed from Amsterdammers... All lamps have been labelled so we can return them to their owners!
