Near the Houtrib locks in Lelystad is a parking place with a mobile snackbar for truckdrivers. I saw various gulls and jackdaws flying and landing to see if there was anything to get there.
This jackdaw is checking the menu to make a choice for a croquette or French fries.
Cute photos of the gulls waiting patiently - people always feed the gulls - sometimes they will come right up to where you are sitting and watch you eat, just waiting for that snack - how could one resist. ha,ha
BeantwoordenVerwijderenNice of someone to put a perch right on the garbage bin for the gulls to wait for service!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenJa dom zijn ze niet ze weten precies waar wat te halen is.
BeantwoordenVerwijderen:-)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenMy guess is that the jackdaw will have both, if he gets the chance! :)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenOpportunists they are. I'd need your help in ordering something from the menu.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDie meeuwen kunnen trouwens behoorlijk brutaal zijn. ;)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenAnd these birds probably do quite well on tid bits that are dropped on the ground. Good shot of the bird looking like he'a reading the menu.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDearest Marianne,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenGuess they CAN read and they can read people very well too. So much about modern birds but these are the street smart ones!
Hugs,
Mariette
Birds soon learn where the snacks are. "Cold Drinks" in English?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenReminds me of myself...waiting for the bakery to open.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI enlarged the menu....brought back memories. I ate a lot of tosti's....it was easy to remember.
