Me in a shop with second hand stuff before I was told it was not allowed to make photos there. Don't know why, just an old lady between old stuff, what is the point?
I have seldom encountered that restriction. . .only once in Whole Foods in Santa Fe, New Mexico. A mystery. . .you're right; what possible harm could it do?! Looks like it would be a good shop to explore, tho.
I don't get it neither, when shop owners tell me they don't allow camera shot in their shop... Specially when there is no creation at stake. It has always some strange kind of reversing effect on me : I then make a point to take as many picture as possible, just to trick them...
But since it is a second hand shop, perhaps the shop owner didn't want you to take picture because all objects there werent acquired by legal chanel, and pictures can be used as proof of deal of stolen proprieties... It happens a lot more that we know.
Anyway great reflection self portrait... nice choice for the week.
I have encountered that a lot in Paris....but not in The Netherlands. Sometimes it is just better to snap first and apologize...then to ask and get a no.
I love old stuff too: furniture, music... This is a very inspiring photo, really, and the smell of antique and vintage things is just lovely. :)

BeantwoordenVerwijderenMisschien zijn de tweedehands spullen staatsgevaarlijk? Het is je wel mooi gelukt.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThis would be such fun to wander aboot and look at everything - I especially enjoy these type of shops. I do not see the harm in a photo??
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThey think you are a competitor. Most of time I ask. That seems to work.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenohhh i would love to shop in there!!

Unbelievable. I'd say to the lady "Well I was going to buy this mirror but now you've changed my mind."
BeantwoordenVerwijderenAmazing self portrait... Great idea... Lovely shop...
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWell....we get to see the photo! I always like your mirror images.

You didn't need to take any more that one is just great.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWell, you got a nice photo before they stopped you. You probably won't go back to that shop.

BeantwoordenVerwijderenDearest Marianne,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenGlad you DID it before being stopped in your tracks and rightly so you did NOT advertise for them!
Happy Sunday and hugs,
Mariette
Extra nice photo.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenStrange that there did not get photographed. Good luck you got this one.
Happy Sunday.
hahaha, i like it!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenso annoying, when people start complaining you cannot take pictures... usually a reason for me to leave....
That's a good self portrait and it's framed nicely too. :-)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDe meeuwen hebben geduld en zijn hard.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenGroetjes,
Filip
That is a ridiculous rule but a fabulous photo.
