Driving along the wind turbines in the Flevopolder I always see this rotor blade in the grass along the highway. I wonder it is art or the remains of an accident in 2009 when one turbine tumbled down on the highway, fortunately no cars were hit. Can't find any information about it but it is there for a long time already so I suppose it must haven some intention.
Here the endless line of turbines along the dike.

Ja, apart. Misschien inderdaad wel bedoeld als kunstobject.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThey look awfully close to the highway - that's kinda scary - we are not allowed to build them that close to roads, etc. Nice photo of the long view.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenSurprising. But, maybe there is some sort of lawsuit..and it has to remain until the suit is settled?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI am curious. With all of your modes of transportation. Trains, trams, bikes, etc. what is the average mileage your put on your car yearly?
We use both, cars and public transport, but our yearly average is about 8000 km.
VerwijderenVast greenery and vast sky -- and I have to agree, that's a whole lot of turbines! Looks like a long drive!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI have ambivalent feelings about turbines; they manage to kill lots of eagles in Minnesota.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI have to wonder how much energy these things get? I hope a lot.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHere we have them scattered all over the hillsides like flowers sprouting from the ground. They appear more closely spaced than yours all neatly in a row but maybe its an illusion.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI love to see the wind turbines whirling in the breeze and creating clean energy. To me they look like huge graceful birds. I voluntarily pay a little extra in my electric bill to use energy from the wind turbines in my state. How fightening to think of a blade flying off and skittering down the highway, however!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThe top of a dike would seem to be a good place for windmills.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenMaybe it is there so you can get a closer look at how massive these blades are?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenOurs are not lined up so neatly, but in a disorderly mess in fields. I'm not yet convinced they are as wonderful as the claims.
