A sculpture of the Mythological figure Atlas with the globe on his shoulders can be found on top the the Royal Palace at Dam square. Linking to "Skywatch Friday" and "Perth Daily Photo" who currently has some posts about the "Atlas building" overthere. :)
This is an unusual sight to see on a rooftop.

Hard work! Nice shot.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenNice statues atop the Royal Palace.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHave a lovely weekend Marianne.
Good photo AND link ups!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenExcellent shot. I've never seen an Atlas here, but we do have a Mercury/ Hermes on top of one of our buildings.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHow brilliant Marianne, j'adore your Atlas ☺ I hope more than ever now that our Atlas makes his way back to look out over the Swan River!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDe wereld is soms klein :)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWonderful shot. I never seen a statue of Atlas before and now I seen two. The whole world on his shoulders, that's got to be tough.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenBoth you and Gracie in Perth found some interesting Atlas history.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenVery nice and great that you linked it to Grace's blog!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI hope the statues are made of light stuff to be on the roof.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenA great statue and a reminder to us all to look up.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenIt's nice when you have statues on the roof.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenYou have to be sure the globe does not fall down ... :)
