Paintings

Young shepherdess 1645 painted by Govert Flinck a master pupil of Rembrandt.

Another portrait by Govert Flinck from 1654. Probably this is Johan de Moregnault, a representative of the States of Zeeland. Look at that (modern) face, you could come across him now too I think.
I saw these paintings in the Amsterdam Museum last week.

  1. I am not familiar with Flinck's work. Thanks for showing these 2 beautiful paintings. One of my favorite painters is Vermeer. I had the privilege of seeing 3 of his paintings at the Louvre.

  3. You're right Marianne, a face you could easily see in a crowd today.. not so much the young shepherdess, she has the face of a cherub oui!
