Spiders

In the garden of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam are two artpieces placed made by Louise Bourgeois (1911-2010)

The Crouching Spider.

  4. I hadn’t heard of this sculptor before so I had to look her up. I was surprised to read she had married an American and moved to the U.S. She has done some fascinating pieces and I really like these.

  5. I have seen two of Louise Bourgeois spiders as well - one was at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, and other was at a gallery here in Somerset - I am now wondering how many spiders she actually made.

  8. "spider" een werk van Louise Bourgeois dat ik in veel groter formaat gezien heb in Oostende, maar +/- 10 jaar geleden

    de Stad wou het niet aankopen en werd in Ottowa heropgebouwd
